I've specialized in keratin bond extensions since 2020, and what I love most about this work is that no two heads of hair are the same.

Fine or fragile hair, curls, Afro textures, short hair or thick hair — I love the challenge of creating something completely individual.

MY SPECIALTY

I chose to specialize.

Keratin bonds, also known as K-tips, are my focus. Working with this method since 2020 has given me the opportunity to keep refining the small decisions that shape an installation.

I pay close attention to bond size, placement and the weight each section carries, alongside texture and colour matching. That focus gives me room to customize the work around the person in my chair.

Different hair needs a different approach.

I enjoy working with fine and fragile hair, curls, Afro textures, short hair and thick hair, as well as straight and wavy hair. Each brings different questions about texture, density, colour and movement.

I consider the hair selection, bond size, placement and amount of hair individually. I want the installation to work with your natural hair and the way you wear it, with a comfortable feel and a natural-looking blend.

BEHIND THE WORK

The installation starts before you sit in my chair.

I select and prepare the hair for each client, then create and customize the K-tips by hand. This lets me control the size, colour and amount of hair in individual bonds.

That preparation gives me flexibility during the installation, so I can adjust the bonds to the natural hair and the area of the head I'm working on.

MAKHNENKO HAIR is my own curated hair line, developed around the work I do in the studio. It is part of how I select hair to suit each client's texture, density and natural movement.

I want you to understand your hair.

A consultation is where we start making decisions together. I look at your natural hair, texture, density, colour and condition, and listen to what you'd like to achieve. We talk through what is realistic and appropriate for you.
