THE METHOD

Learn more than the installation.

I've specialized in keratin bond extensions since 2020. My teaching is grounded in the work I do with clients in my Calgary studio.

Good keratin bond work starts long before the first bond is installed.

I teach the complete process I use with my own clients: assessing the natural hair, selecting the right extension hair, matching colour and texture, creating the bonds, choosing their size and weight, mapping the installation and placing each bond where it can be comfortably supported.

The goal isn't to memorize one installation pattern. It's to understand how to make decisions for the person sitting in your chair.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

The details behind the work.

CONSULTATION + HAIR ASSESSMENT
How to assess natural hair, density, condition, texture and the client's goals before planning an installation.
HAIR SELECTION
Choosing extension hair based on texture, density, movement, length and the client's natural hair.
COLOUR + TEXTURE MATCHING
Looking beyond a single shade and understanding how colour, undertone, texture and movement work together.
HANDMADE BONDS
How I prepare custom keratin bonds by hand and adjust the bond to the installation rather than forcing every client into one standard size.
BOND SIZE + WEIGHT
Micro, nano and standard bonds. Understanding how bond size and extension weight relate to the natural hair supporting them.
MAPPING + PLACEMENT
Planning the installation based on the client's head, natural density, hairline, temples, movement and styling needs.
FINE + FRAGILE HAIR
Working carefully with lower-density hair and understanding where smaller, lighter bonds and thoughtful placement matter.
CURLY + AFRO-TEXTURED HAIR
Texture matching, placement and installation considerations for curls and textured hair, with an approach adapted to the individual texture.
SHORT HAIR
Planning transitions, distribution and blending when working with shorter natural hair.
FACE FRAMING
Placement and bond sizing around more visible areas of the head.
REMOVAL
Safe, controlled removal and protecting the natural hair throughout the process.
REBONDING + REUSE
Preparing suitable extension hair for another installation and understanding when hair should or should not be reused.
HOME CARE + MAINTENANCE
How to educate the client so the installation is properly cared for between appointments.

THE DIFFERENCE

One technique doesn't fit every head of hair.

Fine hair doesn't need the same installation as thick hair. Straight hair doesn't behave like curls. A visible hairline doesn't need the same bond as the back of the head.

That's why I teach decision-making rather than one fixed pattern.

The bond size, weight, placement, colour, texture and amount of hair should all make sense for the client's natural hair.

THE BONDS

Made by hand. Taught by hand.

Bond making is part of the method I teach.

I prepare the bonds according to the hair and the installation rather than relying on one standard size for every client. Students learn how to think about the amount of hair, keratin, size and weight before the bond ever reaches the client's head.

This training is for hairstylists and extension professionals who want to add keratin bonds to their work or improve the way they approach them.
